Since the Divx testing site stage6.com was shutdown, many people have been looking for similar sites to watch HD like movies in the Divx format online. I been looking for such sites t00, but I have not found anything as reliable as stage6 was – the sites listed below are the best I have found so far, so please if you know of any other site let me know.
Joox.net is an old goodie. this site has been around for awhile and it has gone through many phases, but is still up and running.
Things I like about Joox.net.
speed is good, most videos can be streamed without buffering problems, and most videos are good quality.
Things I don’t like about Joox.net
not too many movies available. pagination of videos is very bad, you have to scroll through a long page to find videos – there is not even a search button. many adult ads pop-up here and there, which can be embarrassing when having visitors, or inappropriate if you have small children.
stagevu.com is a new site that was born after stage6.com death.
Things I like about stagevu.com
many movies available, and easy to find them. very clean, and good video pagination featuring channels and advanced searching. ads display on the site are children friendly, which is a plus for me.
Things I don’t like about stagevu.com
low speed. videos take awhile to buffer at the beginning, and there is a lot of buffering pauses between the movie play.
veedhd.com another new nice looking site.
Things I like about veedhd.com
like stagevu, veehd has many HD movies available, and finding them is very easy by searching or categories. veehd features channels as well. very nice looking site, and ads are children friendly.
Things I don’t like about veeHD.
low speed. every time I have play movies on veehd site, it takes awhile to buffer them at the beginning, and a lot of buffering along the movie play.
As you most likely already realized, the biggest problem watching movies on these sites is speed. a popular movie site like stage6.com was takes a lots of bandwidth to keep it running smoothly, and bandwidth is very expensive to pay just by ad revenue – this is the very reason why stage6.com was shutdown. so, my conclusion is that we probably won’t see another site like stage6.com in the near future, unless someone comes up with a different business plan to pay for bandwidth, and still keeping the content free.
