To side load apps from the Android market to the Kindle fire do the following.. Please keep in mind that you need an Android phone to download apps from the Android Market and then transfer them to the kindle fire.

  • Download ES File Explorer on both devices ( look for the app in the Android Market on your Android phone, and in the Amazon App Store on your Kindle fire.
  • Download the ASTRO file manager from the Android market on your android phone https://market.android.com/details?id=com.metago.astro&hl=en
  • On your Android Phone download the app you want to transfer to your Kindle fire ( if you already have the app on your android phone, skip this step )
  • Open ASTRO File Manager on the Android phone, and do a backup of the app you want to transfer to the kindle fire.

  • Connect your Android phone as a USB drive on your computer, and grab the backup of the application you did above, and copy it to somewhere on your computer.
  • Connect your Kindle Fire to the computer as a USB drive as well, and copy the  backup of the application we copied above to a folder in the SDCARD of the kindle fire.
  •  Open ES File Explorer on the kindle fire and execute the .apk file we backed-up above, and execute it.. that should install the application on your kindle fire.
