Hey Mac users, just in case you don’t know. Symantec is a software security company that makes millions of dollars a year selling crappy security applications like their Norton and Symantec antivirus to Windows users, and that’s where your pontiff Steve Jobs is sending you now to buy an antivirus when you call AppleCare whining about your Mac computer being infected with Spyware. and you thought antivirus software was just for Windows, duh.

didn’t believe that? read this

I’ve been telling Mac users for a long time that Macs are vulnerable to malware just like Windows is, and the reason why macs don’t get infected that often is because hackers don’t bother to write their malicious code for that platform, there are not too many macs in the market to bother. but that’s changing now as Apple gains market share in the computer world.

of course mac users never paid attention to my words, so now I’m just having fun watching their bubble getting burst with all the malware infecting their computers lately.

I don’t know where the belief that macs are not susceptible to malware came from, but it must have been a PR strategy from Apple itself, and now is backfiring.

I’m pretty sure Mac users will stick their heads to their ass and continue believing macs are not susceptible to malware. but that’s understandable, according to a recent research it was found that apple fans are like religion zealots. and you know those are knuckleheads. don’t believe that? read this

anyways, that’s my rambling for today.

c ya.

I been using passwordbird.com for awhile, but now when I go to their website I get the following warning:

I get that warning when I use Google Chrome, and I get the following warning on all browsers when I Google the website:

so clearly Google has marked this website as not safe, but can anyone please confirm this is true? passwordbird is a cool clean smart password generator, very useful.

If for some reason you need to browse the Internet anonymously without leaving any trace like cookies, downloaded web files, disk cache, closed tabs list etc.then there is a Firefox plugin to do that. also Google Chrome has a built-in feature called incognito to browse the web anonymously, but lets talk about the Firefox plug-in first.

Stealther is a Firefox plugin that let you browse the web anonymously in that way once you close the browser no history of your online visits is saved on the local disk of the computer. this is a good plugin to use when using a public computer, or a computer you don’t want to leave any traces on. download the plugin from Firefox addons at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1306 and install it. the installation is very simple. once you restart Firefox, the plugin will show up under the Tools menu on your Firefox browser:

Once you click on the Stealther, Firefox will go into stealth mode. while on stealth mode, you won’t be able to login to online accounts that require to install tracking cookies, etc.
You can also choose what to disable or allow on the plugin by going to the extensions options. click on Tools, then choose Add-ons look for the Stealther plugin and click on Options:

the Stealther options window will pop-up:

from here you can choose what to disable or allow by checking or unchecking the options.

Now if for some reason you don’t want to use this plugin on Firefox, then download Google Chrome. in Google Chrome you don’t need any plugin just download it, and from the menu click on the wrench icon and click on New Incognito Window:

that should pop-up a new window totally anonymous on your browser.
